Detailed Overview
NEET (Medical):
Structure: Consists of 180 (or 200 with options) Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs).
Focus: High emphasis on memorization and factual knowledge, particularly in Biology, which carries 50% of the total weightage.
Competition: Extremely high due to a massive number of applicants (over 20 lakh) for limited government medical seats.
Attempt Limits: There is no upper limit for attempts for NEET.
JEE (Engineering):
Structure: JEE Main is the first step; only top qualifiers proceed to JEE Advanced for IIT admissions.
Focus: Highly conceptual and mathematical. Questions are designed to test deep problem-solving skills and the application of logic, especially in Physics and Math.
Eligibility: Requires a minimum of 75% marks in 12th boards for general category candidates (65% for reserved) for admission to premier institutes.
Attempt Limits: JEE Main can be attempted for 3 consecutive years; JEE Advanced can be attempted for 2 consecutive years.
